The FJB team recently had the privilege of visiting the Swegon UK&I manufacturing facility in Whitstable — a day filled with technical insight, practical demonstrations, and meaningful industry collaboration.
Hosted by the knowledgeable and welcoming Swegon team, our visit began with an in-depth guided tour of their impressive factory. This behind-the-scenes look gave us a first-hand view of their operations and manufacturing processes, offering valuable context to the products and systems we specify in our designs.
One of the standout moments of the day was a live demonstration of Swegon’s test furnace — an exciting and highly informative experience that brought theoretical knowledge into real-world application. The demonstration underscored the critical importance of ensuring product compatibility and highlighted how easily non-compliances can arise without careful specification and integration.
The afternoon featured a CPD session focused on smoke and fire dampers — a key component in safe and compliant MEP design. The session was both engaging and educational, reinforcing best practices in fire safety engineering and offering insights that will directly benefit our ongoing and future projects.
