HORSHAM BLUE LIGHT FIRE STATION AND TRAINING CENTRE
This new Fire Station and Training Centre provides a much-needed operational base for West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service. The site development delivered a new fire station, training tower, live fire training facility, appliance bay and dedicated breathing apparatus building.

The fire station itself comprises two storeys of sleeping accommodation, offices, training rooms, equipment stores and emergency control rooms, creating a modern, fully equipped environment to support frontline services.

We were fortunate to visit the live fire training tower in Cardiff to gain valuable insight ahead of designing the facility now built in Horsham. This early engagement formed the starting point of a highly collaborative process, enabling the team to deliver the project on time and within budget.
Sustainability was embedded throughout the design development. In line with the County Council’s commitment to becoming carbon neutral by 2030, the project incorporates renewable technologies including solar panels and air source heat pumps to provide efficient heating, alongside electric vehicle charging infrastructure to support the transition to a lower-carbon fleet.
